My bro told me that he had always felt a pull towards wide open spaces and a different pace of life than his native Midwest offered.
The allure of Australia, with its rugged landscapes and tales of opportunity, had been a persistent whisper in the back of his mind.
Now, staring down his thirties with a non STEM bachelor's degree that hadn't quite paved the career path he'd envisioned, that whisper had grown into a determined voice.
Permanent residency in the land Down Under had become his long term goal.
He knew his existing degree wasn't exactly a golden ticket for Australian skilled migration.
So, he started researching trades and skilled work that were in demand, yeah, he's that serious about moving to Australia.
Mining kept popping up, which I know that's a sector vital to the Australian economy, often located in those vast, remote areas he really like so much.
So, as american moving to australia, should he try to gain some initial experience in the US mining industry, hoping that would make him a more attractive candidate for an Australian employer?
Or would it be a better strategy to just pack his bags, head to Australia on a temporary visa if possible, and enroll in a trade school there to learn the ropes firsthand? How does this work?
