I've been traveling a lot lately because i'm a digital nomad and i like to travel the world. My next destination sounds good, but I've never been there and i'm trying to gather some thoughts before i proceed and i want to know the good and dark side of living in Costa Rica? I would appreciate any answer :)

It seems like moving was a good choice for you. I've been in Costa Rica for 17 years, and I haven't had any major problems. The dogs here can act more like security than pets at times. Importing things can be expensive and there aren't many choices, but Panama is close by if you need to make big purchases. The driving isn't great, but it's about the same as many places in the U.S. The police aren't very strong, bribery does happen, and true friendships can be hard to find. Still, the quiet of a small town in Costa Rica is way better than life in a big city for me

Living in Costa Rica for a year while working remotely was an incredible journey for me. The small towns had this charm that really seeped into my heart. Sure, I faced the usual hurdles with driving and getting things shipped, but having a solid local network made a huge difference. Building friendships took some time, but that's just part of the adventure, right? All in all, if you're willing to embrace the changes, this place can truly be special

A colleague of mine from the previous company lived there for a while and he was generally happy. He was a bit surprised by the cost of living as it's not as cheap as some people think, but it wasn't all that terrible. He liked the atmosphere and was a massive fan of those small cities and their communities. Overall it's a good place if you're looking for a peaceful life, but not the best if you want to experience the nightlife.
